What the checker does
It reads your text against several thousand grammar, spelling and punctuation rules and returns what it matched, with suggested replacements you can accept one at a time. British, American, Australian and Canadian English are separate settings, because a spelling that is correct in one is an error in another.
It is a rule matcher, not a proofreader. It cannot judge whether your argument holds, whether the evidence supports it, or whether the structure answers the question your tutor set. Nothing flagged does not mean finished, and a longer piece is best checked a section at a time.
